Case Study · Systems Domain
+58 buyer requests a week, once the noise stopped at the door
Alan Johnston · Founder, Leads4Biz
Before
A lead system that made money, then vanished overnight
In Alan’s own words.
“We had a lead system that actually made money. Then a theme update wiped it, and the developer’s custom code went with it. Since then we’ve been rebuilding around the gaps.
The offer kept changing, so every sales playbook we wrote was out of date within months, and no two clients went through the same process. We’ve got WordPress, GHL, an AI agent, analytics, and the plan lives in WhatsApp voice notes.
Scout was meant to route our leads, but most of what came in wasn’t a real buyer. Around 70% were link-builders and submitters. The AI was just sorting the noise faster. The directory was getting attention, but the thing that earned money, real buyer requests, was buried underneath it.”

The Fracture
Systems: the business could not tell a buyer from noise
Every domain was under load. One was destabilising the rest.
The money-making lead flow lived in custom theme code. One update erased it.
Buyers, link-builders and submitters arrived through the same door. Around 70% was noise.
Scout sorted the noise faster. It could not fix what was allowed in.
The Correction
One install: the Buyer Request Gate
Stop sorting the noise. Stop it coming in. Rebuilt in GHL so no theme update can take it out again.
Split the front door
“Request a supplier” and “List or submit” became two separate paths. Listing traffic never reaches the buyer pipeline.
Qualify at entry
Buyer requests answer a few required questions: service needed, timeline, budget band. Link-builders drop out on their own.
Route only real buyers
Scout now works only on requests that passed the gate. The AI accelerates revenue, not noise.
“We stopped trying to sort the noise and stopped it coming in. Buyer requests now have their own door, with a few questions a link-builder won’t bother answering. Listings and submissions go somewhere else entirely. Scout only sees people who actually want to buy. And it lives in GHL now, not in theme code, so an update can’t take it out again.”
