Why Do Pet Owners Live Longer?

People love their pets and this relationship provides numerous benefits for pet owners. These life-extending qualities, especially from dogs can lower your stress levels and blood pressure. A healthier life is of course a happier life.

Benefits of Owning a Pet

Whichever pet you already have or are about to choose, a dog, cat or a budgie, the most important aspect is that you are excited about it. It's more meaningful if your pet is suitable for your character and mood.

Pet owners rarely feel loneliness or suffer any depression, so animal lovers should be happy to know that having a pet can add years to your life.

Survival rates for heart attack victims are greatly increased for those with a loving companion. Frequent contact with mans best friend also triggers a relaxation response.

Owning a pet requires a fair amount of exercise, especially with dogs which can only be a positive thing for both pets and owners.

Studies have consistently proven that owning a cat, dog or a pet in general, helps a person's feelings of well-being and general happiness. The most important aspect for people who own a pet is that they actually live longer than people who don't have a pet!

Owning a pet is just one way to increase your life span. For a complete course on how to feel better, live longer and enhance your health naturally, read Dr. Andrew Weil's Guide to Optimum Health.
