The evidence is firmly in place; smoking kills more people than anything else. It damages almost every organ of the body. If you want to smoke or already do then you could live up to 10 years less than non smokers.
Tabacco
There's no denying the fact that half of all smokers will die from a smoking related illness. Nicotine, the drug found in tobacco is one of the most harmful elements of smoking as it is highly addictive, as well increasing heart rate and blood pressure.
The tar also found in Nicotine begins to accumulate overtime near the lungs, you can imagine the problems that causes. Carbon Monoxide is a poisonous gas that is rapidly absorbed into the blood reducing its ability to transport oxygen.
The Diseases
Smoking causes numerous diseases such as lung cancer and respiratory problems as well as many other ailments. A smoker has a considerably lower standard of life with constant wheezing, coughing, dizziness, and nausea. Of course, it's particularly more dangerous to pregnant women and their unborn child.
I really can't imagine how much a smoker spends money on this habit. The UK price of a pack of cigarettes is now 6.20. I think this a bit expensive but as it should be. Imagine what this expenditure amounts to per week, month or year.
There is also a lengthy time off for smokers with smoking related illnesses costing business and the economy as a whole millions in lost earnings.
Passive Smoking
Passive smoking or second hand smoking also affects millions of people around the world that have to endure the proximity of a smoker. We've all experienced the bad breath of all smokers and it isn't pleasant even if they use mints. In fact smoking makes everything smell bad, skin, hair, clothes, you name it.
I can't imagine what a smoker goes through when he is forced to or decides to quit smoking due to the addictiveness when he realizes the harmful effects to himself and his family. How to they cope with nicotine withdrawal?
Your Life
Live your life the best you can and the longest you can, so don't even contemplate starting to smoke. Are you ready to end your addiction?
