Digestion
Most of us know quite well that it takes at least 20 minutes after eating for your stomach to tell your brain that it is full. So why do a great many people finish a meal in lightning speed?
Slow down your consumption in order for your brain to catch up. Just put your folk down once your mouth is full. Feel full on less food by chewing more, thinking about the food as you eat it and taking longer to eat.
Drinking Calories.
A lot of the bad calories we consume are from drinking liquids such as coke, sodas, and sweetened juice. Why don't we swap them once in a while for water, tea or calorie-free sodas?
It isn't a good idea to eat and drink at the same time. We can unthinkingly drink a number of high calorie drinks such as beers or glasses of wine or juice during mealtimes.
This adds hundreds of calories to your daily intake. Just drink an adequate amount of water while you eat and then enjoy your favorite drink after your meal.
Never mind the waste.
Don't finish a plate just for the sake of having a clean plate. Some people might think of the potential waste but it's not as bad as the harm it's doing to their body.
Snacks
You don't need to eliminate your favorite snacks but it's better to be aware of exactly what you are consuming on a daily basis. It's a good idea to keep a record of your daily snacks to keep it all in perspective.
Free Radicals
Free radicals are formed from weak molecular bonds caused by numerous environmental factors like pollution, radiation from the sun and cigarette smoke. They are largely responsible for early aging and most diseases such as cancers and heart disease.
Antioxidants
To fight these free radicals we must consume antioxidants which are vitamin C and E. These vitamins protect and reduce harmful free radicals. Many healthy foods contain antioxidants but beans and blueberries contain a particularly high volume.
