Healing Hands and the Benefits of the Thai Massage.

Thai massage (Nuad Boran) has numerous benefits for everyone. It is a physical therapy and passive yoga all in one.

Thai massage improves blood circulation, lymph and helps to improve problems associated with mobility. I have a massage once a week and it gives me such a feeling of wellbeing just to look forward to it. A 2 hour session is recommended and really does lift my spirit and leaves me with a great sense of happiness and wellbeing.

More and more doctors in Thailand now fully endorse Thai massage as a means of alleviating stress, stiffness, muscle pain and headaches. Some even say that it improves conditions such as circulatory, nervous, respiratory and digestive problems.

Myself as well as any other customer are greeted with the upmost respect, with a Thai 'Wai', the general greeting in Thailand. It should be noted that a 'Wai' is the same as our typical western handshake so when a Thai greets you with a 'Wai' try your upmost to return the 'Wai'. You wouldn't like it if you would outstretch your hand to greet someone and they don't bother to reach out and shake it. The massage is given on futon mattress and I am generally given a set of Pajamas to wear.

Four Devine States of Mind.

Thai massage demonstrates the ‘Four divine states of mind’ as taught in Buddhism, the ways of embracing the world celebrated as the ‘Brahma-viharas’ or sublime abodes these are:

Metta Kunang Alahang Metta
Kharuna Kunang Alahang Kharuna
Muttita Kunang Alahang Muttita
Myethree Kunang Alahan Myethree

Metta is friendliness or loving-kindness,
Kharuna is compassion,
Muttita is goodwill or rejoicing with others in their happiness or prosperity, and
Myethree is to be wise and calm, reasoning any decision or action.

You can experience the feeling of generosity, sharing compassion, and experience oneness, expressing loving kindness.

More Benefits of Thai Massage

Thai massage increases your awareness, relaxation, calmness and rest.
For me personally it's a great source of pain relief and eases muscle tension.
Some people might even argue that it strengthens the body’s immune system.

The more frequently you have a session your body's ability to absorb nutrition increases. This deep and focused work strengthens and rejuvenates the body improves blood and lymph circulation.

The passive yoga increases your flexibility and the overall treatment enhances well-being.
Thai massage helps detoxify the body’s systems, balancing body, mind, and spirit for total rejuvenation. Intuitive Zen healing work frees blockages opening meridians and allowing bio-energy to flow. The joy of receiving helps establish mental & emotional peace giving a refreshed spirit.

The law of attraction states that all illnesses or diseases themselves psychologically and the Thai massage works as a preventative measure as well as a primary treatment for many conditions. I strongly recommend it therefore as a very powerful tool, not only does it cater for relaxation but has many potential applications from sports professionals, to the disabled, and even therapy for people suffering from conditions affecting loss of sensation in the body. Thai massage has been utilized for centuries as a healing tool to treat of a wide variety of ailments including musculo-skeletal problems, internal organ problems, neurological conditions and emotional distress.

If you aren't able to get a Thai massage, I very much recommend Dahnhak Hwalgong as a home massage therapy method. This is a traditional health regimen that originated in ancient Korea and means healing hands. Find out more.
